How TyreCompare works

TyreCompare is an independent tyre price comparison site for South Africa. We show live and recently checked prices from major online and fitment retailers so you can see who is cheapest for your exact tyre size — whether you are in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, or anywhere with courier delivery.

Where our prices come from

Prices are gathered automatically from retailer websites (where available), verified by our team, and supplemented by community submissions. Each row in a comparison table shows the retailer, whether the price includes fitment, and when it was last updated. We do not sell tyres — we link you to the retailer's own checkout or product page.

Browse all retailers we track — including national chains and Western Cape specialists — or jump straight to a search for your size or brand.

How offers are ordered

On each tyre size page, offers are sorted by lowest price first (per tyre, before optional fitment unless stated). The top card is labelled "Cheapest" when it is the lowest current offer we have for that tyre pattern and size. Rankings are not paid placements.

Filtering by city, brand, and price band

On every size page (e.g. 195/65 R15), you can narrow results by metro area, brand, and price category (premium, mid-range, budget). Nationwide online retailers with delivery across South Africa appear for every area. Regional fitment centres only appear when you select a matching city or region — so you are not shown a Cape Town-only workshop when you are shopping for Durban, unless they also serve you nationally.

Cities, regions, and nationwide delivery

Most large retailers on TyreCompare ship nationwide (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha, Cape Town, and beyond). Some independent fitment groups focus on a single metro — those offers carry a regional tag (e.g. Cape Town) so you know the service area at a glance. If you need in-person fitment, check the retailer's delivery and fitment badges on each card.

Independence and updates

TyreCompare is free to use. Retailers cannot pay to be ranked "higher" in the price table — the sort order is by current price. We refresh data on a rolling basis; each listing shows how recent the check is.
